We started by questioning why Southend was not benefiting from the levels of investment that other towns seemed to be attracting. There was a lack of investment by larger companies and quality hotels; no investment on the seafront and the Pier, and Southend seemed to be losing a lot of quality retailers from the High Street. There were no easy answers but we invested our time into investigating potential reasons, which were complex and varied according to individual circumstances. Over recent years there has been a willingness by the Local Authority and others to see Southend in a different light and the role of Dedman Regeneration with its many years of experience is able to work with the various bodies to deliver investment, expertise in urban regeneration and planning so as to work, often in partnership, on major schemes and achieve a more exciting and vibrant Town. Our experience has enabled us to work with other local authorities and corporate clients in bringing about comprehensive re-development schemes.
